Shmaltz She’Brew, An All Female Brewed Imperial IPA
Shmaltz Brewing She”Brew Beer is is being released nationally, in honor of the 2nd Annual International Women’s Collaboration Day.
The brew occurred March 8th, 2015, featuring a few of craft beers amazing women, including Nikki Cavanaugh, co-founder of Rushing Duck Brewing Co. Dora Phillip, co-owner of The Hollow Bar + Kitchen, Jennifer Allen of Saratoga Eagle Sales and Service, Tara Akstull, Jaclyn Papa and Shmaltz Brewing Co. staff Brigid Clare, Liz Nagle, Amanda Gomez, Shelby Schneider, Chris Dufrain, Richie Saunders and Shmaltz Jeremy Cowan.
“International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day was created to raise awareness of women working in the beer industry and to encourage women to enjoy and embrace beer,” says Denise Ratfield, IWCBD Coordinator. “Through the efforts of hundreds of women brewing together around the world, we are achieving this goal with each successive brew. In addition to the joy of camaraderie, we gain a special satisfaction in knowing that money raised funds the Pink Boots Society scholarship program and local charities.”
The team created a triple IPA, nearly four pounds per barrel of Calypso, Citra, Crystal and Amarillo hops. Schmaltz She’Brew will be available in 22oz bottles, in select Sh’maltz markets. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Pink Boots Society scholarship fund.

Shmaltz Brewing teams up again with Cathedral Square Brewery on their newest offering, a sour rye beer –Saint Jewbelation.
A re-interpreted recipe of Shmaltz’s Monumental Jewbelation- brewed and fermented with Belgian yeast in the Show Me State of Missiouri by the expert hands of Cathedral Square Brewery – and aged in the treasured barrels previously inhabited by 2014 Funky Jewbelation. Shmaltz Upgrades Death of a Contract Brewer
Shmaltz Brewing Company (Clifton Park, NY) released Death of a Contract Brewer Black IPA in celebration of their first brick and mortar brewery. No more contract brewing for the 17 year old craft brewery.
The first ever black IPA by Shmaltz is now being upgraded to year round status in 22oz bottles and limited draft.
“Celebrate our rebirth with Shmaltz’s first-ever black IPA, brewed with 7 malts, 7 hops and 7% abv,” says Shmaltz Brewmaster Paul McErlean. “Savor this rich, jet black IPA — overflowing with characteristics of coffee, dark chocolate, and fresh citrus with a mix of pine. “Funky has been aged in Buffalo Trace Bourbon and Sazarac and Willett Rye whiskey barrels. It’s a monumental blend of our favorite ales that we’ve lovingly nurtured for the past couple years. Since some of the beers were contract brewed and some brewed at our new brewery in Clifton Park, this Funky offering bridges our old life with our new. Funky Jewbelation 2014 glistens a deep ruby color with a big, tart, sour cherry flavor and a malty earth aroma. A lovely puckering is complemented by subtle hints of bourbon, charred wood, molasses and light notes of vanilla.”
