Modern Times Beer’s 20 pack returns to shelves
Modern Times Beer (San Diego, CA) has brought back their mixed 20-pack of cans. The box contains 4 cans of each of the brewery’s year round beers: Blazing World, Fortunate Island, Black House, and Lomaland.
Additionally, the case will feature 4 cans of the current seasonal, which is Aurora, an autumnal red rye IPA.
Modern Times 20-packs will be on sale in the tap room starting Monday, March 23rd.
Expect the 20 packs to pop up around San Diego and the O.C. in November. On Friday, 10/30, they are on sale in the taproom – price is $36.99. That’s less than 2 dollars a can.

Modern Times Releases Two Very Rare Bottles in July
Modern Times Beer (San Diego, CA) is releasing two rare bottles in honor of their second anniversary.
The brewery was “hooked up” with some special barrels – namely 12 year old single barrel Elijah Craig, and 10 Year Four Roses barrels. Modern Times filled the barrels with Monster’s Park Imperial Stout, and waited.
The result: 336 bottles of 10 Year Four Roses, and 155 bottles of 12 year Elijah Craig. On sale for $28 and $30 dollars each.

Modern Times Mount Remarkable Marks First Bottled Lager
Modern Times Mount Remarkable marks the brewery’s first bottled lager. The 5% alcohol by volume “crusher” is brewed Australian Helga and Ella hops.
This nuanced, easy-drinking guzzler has a floral, fruity aroma; a crisp, dry body; and a crackery finish that hits all the right notes for a 5% ABV lager.
Modern Times Mount Remarkable will be available in 22oz bottles throughout southern California by the end of April. On tap in the tasting room starting this week.

Modern Times Barrel Aged Monster’s Park Tickets on Sale 3/19
Modern Times Bourbon Barrel Aged Monster’s Park tickets go on sale this Thursday. The brewery’s 13% ABV imperial stout has been aged 5+ months in bourbon barrels.
There are three versions of Modern Times Bourbon Barrel Aged Monster’s Park: The “classic” edition, one featuring Black House Blend coffee, and one with toasted coconut & cocoa nibs.
600 bottles of each will be available. Prices range from $24 to 28 a piece.
Modern Times Bourbon Barrel Aged Monster’s Park and variants on March 19th at 10am via Brown Paper Tickets; all bottles must be picked up at the Lomaland Fermentorium tasting room during the two month pick-up window.

Modern Times Protocosmos, a New 22oz Bottle
Modern Times Protocosmos, the third release in the brewery’s monthly 22oz bottle releases, arrives today. Modern Times touts Protocosmos as “aggressively hoppy.”
A 7% ABV IPA employing a mix of Galaxy, Ahtanum, and Centennial, Protocosmos is a fragrant, complex, aggressively hoppy beer. Pineapple; orange zest; and a profound, deep, almost vibrational dankness positively billow from the glass, and the light malt backbone provides the perfect support for this remarkably delicious IPA.
Modern Times Protocosmos is on sale in the brewery’s tap room starting at 12pm, $6.99 each.

Modern Times Booming Rollers, Just Canned
Modern Times Booming Rollers is not available in cans. The seasonal IPA features Citra hops, known for their juicy citrus flavor.
Booming Rollers is a showcase for the juicy awesomeness of Citra hops. These new wave American hops impart a remarkable aroma and flavor, which we’ve amplified with the dark stone fruit character of New Zealand-grown Motueka hops. Some Centennial is thrown in to balance the tropical fruit party, and the malt body is just assertive enough to support Booming Rollers’ snappy bitterness. It’s a party in your mouth and all the beautiful people are invited.
Modern Times Booming Rollers is available in 16oz cans starting February 17th, 2015.
