Foothills Brewing To Expand Distribution to Georgia in 2016

Foothills Brewing (Winston-Salem, NC) has been teasing Georgia distribution for years now. The brewery’s brewmaster and president Jamie Bartholomaus even attending the University of Georgia. So yeah, Georgia has always been on the radar.

“Georgia is where it all began for me,” Jamie says, “so obviously I’m pretty excited about finally getting an opportunity to sell our beer there.”

The expanded distribution coincides with a planned brewery expansion at the production facility in Winston-Salem. (The brewery also operates a pub downtown.) New 400 barrel fermentation tanks will be installed just prior to Foothills expansion to the Georgia market in late 2016, nearly a year from now.

That fermentation capacity increase will increase distribution to 70,000 barrels (2.1 million gallons) of beer, annually.

Foothills has not announced a distribution partner in the state at the time of this post.

Your Dog Could Be on Foothill’s IPA of The Month in 2015

Throughout 2014, Foothills Brewing (Winston-Salem, NC) has released an “IPA of the Month” featuring a different pinup girl. In 2015, it’s going to the dogs.

Foothills is asking for the communities help to find 11 special dogs for the 2015 IPA of the Month. The series will kick off with Barley (seen above), Foothill’s own house dog.

The brewery’s contest will be held across all of Foothill’s online platforms: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. If you’re on MySpace still, you probably aren’t even reading this.

Dog winners will be chosen by Shapiro-Walker Design, creators of the brewery’s labels since opening in 2005.

Dogs can be from anywhere, INCLUDING the brewery’s state of North Carolina or distribution territory. Winners will receive a press proof signed by the artist, a bottle with your dog’s label, and a donation will be made to a humane society or no-kill shelter in the winner’s city.

Bad news. I’m told Mawgs, (half man, half dog) are disqualified.
