Left Hand Brewing continues to rollout Nitro Milk Stout bottles this year. The first markets have been around Colorado of course. Back in October at GABF, Left Hand officially introduced the world to Milk Stout in nitro bottles for the first time. These bottles are a first among craft brewers in the states. Atlanta can finally expect the arrive of Nitro bottles by the first of March. Milk Stout is Left Hand’s #1 selling beer.
Haven’t seen these bottles at work yet, here’s a demonstration by Chris in the Left Hand tap room:

Green Flash Brewing has been eyeing the southeast for a while now. Recently, it was announced that Green Flash would be shipping to Tennessee by the end of 2011/2012. Tack on Georgia to the southeast expansion. The brewery has decided to go with Savannah Distribution.
In early 2011, the brewery began operations at Mera Mesa – a 45,000 sq ft facility. In November, the brewery announced that the San Diego facility would undergo an expansion 1 year ahead of schedule, thanks to increased sales volumes nationally. Once all the expansions are complete, the brewery will make the jump from 45,000 barrels… Read the rest

Today, Clown Shoes is brewing Chocolate Sombrero (previously known as cocoa powder.) The brewery dubs it their Mexican imperial stout, because it uses ancho chile powder, cinnamon, and organic vanilla extract. This brew day marks the last stout they are brewing for the season.
Georgia will see expanded distribution soon (as right now the beers are only sold in Total Wines in the state, much to the chagrin of Atlanta retailers.) Mercury Brewing in Ipswich, Massachusetts is expanding their facility, which will allow for more Clown Shoes.
As for Mexican Sombrero:… Read the rest

Starbucks has already been experimenting with beer and wine additions in stores in Chicago and the west coast. The company announced yesterday that they plan on adding beer to as many as 25 stores in southern California and Atlanta by the end of the year. Starbucks hasn’t revealed which Atlanta locations, or what breweries will be sold yet. One would assume they would be looking at local options, right? The strategy is part of a broader experiment to find ways to lure
