Alexander Keith’s Heading Stateside Soon

Alexander need’s to get his passport ready.  Alexander Keith’s Brewing is based in breezy Halifax, Nova Scotia.  I’ve always called their amber lager the Canadian Yuengling.  Actually to that respect, Keith’s has 9 years on Yuengling – founded in 1820.  Alexander is a guy that jumped on a boat from Scotland in the early 1800’s.  By the time he was 25 years old, he was running his brewery in Halifax.  He didn’t stop at brewing, as Keith was the mayor of Halifax 3 times in his life.

More than 180 years later, Alexander Keith’s is travelling again to America.  The brewery looks to be sending  Nova Scotia Style Pale Ale, Lager, and Brown Ale down to the lower 48 very soon.  A couple of years ago, Anheuser Busch added Keith’s to their import portfolio.  But to my knowledge, not much has actually shipped into the U.S. <DraftMag>
