21st Amendment Toaster Pastry, a Pop-Tart Inspired Beer

21st Amendment Toaster Pastry

21st Amendment Toaster Pastry, a new Pop-Tart flavored beer releases this month.

First and foremost, the beer is homage to their new San Leandro brewery’s building’s former self, a Kellogg’s plant. (Maker of Pop-Tarts). 21st Amendment Toaster Pastry is billed as an “India-style” red ale, with biscuit malts for a nutty flavor, and dark crystal and pale malts for a strawberry jam taste.

Our first beer out of our new brewery is an homage to its former life as a toaster pastry factory. Biscuit malts give the beer a slightly nutty, crust-like flavor, while pale and dark crystal malts create the mouthfeel and flavors reminiscent of strawberry jam. Calypso and other experimental hops give this ruby ale a welcome bite, plus a few more in the op back for a toasty-sweet aroma.

Style: IPA
Availability: 19.2 ounce cans.

  1. Now we are just catering to idiots. Slim Jim and Macho Man Randy Savage should collaborate with them for a “beef” jerky beer. Maybe Sonic and Shock Top can get together for a “Cheddar Pepper Wheat” and they can make a “Ranch Dressing Wheat” to mix with it for a cream & green effect. Let’s throw a bunch of Taco Bell fire sauce into a beer with 500 boxes of Little Debbie’s Swiss Cake Rolls and see what we get. Have they made “fart beer” yet? Maybe just a nice crisp lager that makes a fart sound when you open it and it smells and tastes like farts. I know some dogs who would enjoy that one. How about a barrel aged Eggo stout with Megan Fox breast milk added post fermentation.
